Our role

For website visitors, prospects, customer contacts, and account users, Team HQ LLC generally decides why and how personal information is used. For driver and workforce records placed in Alakili by a customer, the customer controls the data and Alakili processes it to provide the service. Drivers should direct requests concerning those records to their employer. See our product privacy notice.

How we use information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, manage accounts, provide the service, process subscriptions and billing, send service and security communications, understand website and product usage, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with law. Where European or UK data protection law applies, our legal bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent for optional cookies, and compliance with legal obligations.

How we disclose information

We may disclose information to vendors that host or support our website, platform, communications, analytics, CRM, support and billing; professional advisers; authorities or other parties when required by law; and a buyer or successor in a business transaction. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Our services are hosted in the United States. Authorized personnel and contractors, including personnel in Kenya, may access information when needed to develop, operate, secure and support Alakili. We use contractual, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and applicable law.

Security

We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These include encryption in transit and at rest and role-based restrictions on production access. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. Report suspected security issues to hello@alakili.com.
